SAMARINDA - The Regional People's Representative Council (DPRD) of East Kalimantan Province (Kaltim) proposed three candidates for Governor of East Kalimantan to the central government scheduled for Friday (8/9).
"Currently there are five names, namely Alimuddin, Kamaluddin Amin, Akmal Malik, Sri Wahyuni, and Abdunnur," said East Kalimantan DPRD Chairman Hasanuddin Mas'ud in Samarinda as reported by ANTARA, Thursday, September 7.
He said the five names were sorted based on the results of internal meetings of leaders and factions in Surabaya, on Tuesday (5/9).
"The decision is in accordance with the Leadership Meeting (rapim) in Surabaya, so the regulatory mandate is in accordance with Law Number 10 of 2016. The East Kalimantan DPRD through the Chair may propose at least three names," Hasanuddin said.
Each faction has submitted three names for the governor's candidate, so 24 names have been collected. Of the 24 names, five were selected with the highest score based on functional and structural criteria.
"We, the leadership element, have agreed with the eight faction leaders to accommodate three people per faction, so that 24 names appear, of the 24 names are narrowed to five people," he said.
Hasanuddin said that the East Kalimantan DPRD only delivered the proposals to the central government, while the authority to determine the candidate for governor is in the hands of the Ministry of Home Affairs (Kemendagri) and the President.
VOIR éGALEMENT:
The three names proposed by the East Kalimantan DPRD can represent the aspirations of the people of East Kalimantan and there is no difference between those proposed and those appointed.
"We want the appointed Acting Officer to be a representation of the people of East Kalimantan," he said.
He hopes that the process of appointing the candidate for Acting Governor of East Kalimantan can be completed as soon as possible.
"So we hold the rapim again, maybe by night to determine the three names to be sent tomorrow," Hasanuddin said.
