BANDUNG - Former Secretary of the Bandung City Transportation Service (Dishub) Khairur Rijal submitted a letter of application to become a justice collaborator in the Bandung Smart City corruption case to the panel of judges at the Bandung Corruption Court.

"Please submit it, we will consider it later," said Chief Judge Hera Kartiningsih at the Bandung Corruption Court, reported by ANTARA, Wednesday, September 6.

However, Hera reminded that to become a justice collaborator, the main requirement is that the defendant is not the main suspect.

"For the rules to be juctice collaborator, it's definitely not the main suspect," he said.

Meanwhile, the public prosecutor (JPU) of the Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) Tito Jaelani said justice collaborator is the right of all defendants. However, it must be considered whether this defendant can help reveal a case or not.

"That's the right of the defendants. Go ahead, but there are conditions that must be met, that's what will be considered later," said Tito.

In the case of the Bandung Smart City project for the procurement of CCTV and internet networks (ISP), Khairur Rijal was charged with having received a gratuity flow of Rp. 2.1 billion from Benny as Director of PT Sarana Mitra Adiguna (PT SMA), Andreas Guntoro as Vertical Slution Manager of PT SMA, and Sony Setiadi as Director of PT Citra Jelajah Informatika (CIFO).

Apart from Khairur Rijal, the former Head of the Bandung City Transportation Agency together with the inactive Bandung Mayor Yana Mulyana were also found guilty of the case.

For his actions, the KPK prosecutor charged Khairur Rijal with Article 12 letter bjuncto Article 18 of Law Number 31 of 1999 concerning Eradication of Criminal Acts of Corruption as amended by Law no. 20 of 2001 jo. Article 55 paragraph (1) 1 of the Criminal Code and Article 65 paragraph (1).
