MRT Development, Traffic Engineering On Jalan Gajah Mada-Hayam Wuruk Applicable Until December 31 Imbas

JAKARTA - The DKI Provincial Government carried out traffic engineering along Jalan Gajah Mada and Jalan Hayam Wuruk, Central Jakarta, as a result of the construction of the MRT Jakarta Phase 2A CP202. Traffic engineering was enforced until December 31, 2023.Corporate Secretary Division Head of PT MRT Jakarta Ahmad Pratomo explained, traffic engineering was carried out to support the construction work of a guide wall and Diaphragm wall (D-wall) on the Kali Ciliwung side of the road. "PT MRT Jakarta apologizes for the inconvenience during this work. We expect the understanding and cooperation of the community to continue to support the implementation of this project in order to make Jakarta a better and more comfortable city for all of us," said Pratomo in his statement, Wednesday, August 30.There are three traffic engineering affected intersections on Jalan Gajah Mada-Hayam Wuruk. Here are the details: 1. Harmoni Constraint Simpang from Harmoni intersection to Jalan KH. Hasyim Ashari, Dutauguh, and BTN can use one lane on Jalan Gajah Mada. While road users go to Jalan KH. Zainul Arifin, Mangga Besar, and Kota are diverted to 2 lanes on Hayam Wuruk Street (contraflow).2. Batu Ceperuser Bridge Hayam Wuruk Street towards Kota towards Jalan KH. Zainul Arifin, Gajah Mada Plaza, and Lawu Tower can switch to Jalan Gajah Mada via Jalan Batu Ceper. While the driver of the Mangga Besar and Kota direction can continue using Jalan Hayam Wuruk (contraflow).3. Mangga Besar Pedest Intersection from the Mangga Besar intersection towards Hayam Wuruk Plaza, Kebon Jeruk Mosque, and Bank Permata Hayam Wuruk can use one lane on Hayam Wuruk Street. While road users to Jalan Kebon Jeruk, Jalan Sukarjo Wiryopranoto, Monas can take two right lanes through Jalan Gajah Mada (traflow).

There are alternative routes for motorists around Jalan Gajah Mada and Jalan Hayam Wuruk, namely:1. City directions - drivers who want to go to Jalan KH Hasyim Ashari as well as Jalan KH Zainul Arifin, can go through Jalan Suryopranoto and Jalan Cideng Barat.- road users to Kota can go through Jalan Suryopranoto and Jalan Cideng Barat, then to the north via Jalan KH Moh Mansyur and Jalan Perniagaan Raya.- road users to Kota can also go to Jalan Ir. H. Juanda and Jalan Gunung Sahari, to then return to Jalan Gajah Mada via Jalan Raya Mangga Besar.2. Roxy direction- vehicles going to ITC Roxy Mas can use Suryopranoto Street then to Jalan Cideng Barat and turn left on Jalan KH Hasyim Ashari.
