BNNP North Maluku Arrests 1.9 Kg Narcotics Dealer

TERNATE - The National Narcotics Agency for Representatives (BNNP) of North Maluku Province arrested a suspected drug dealer of dried marijuana sent from Aceh to be sold to the province as much as 1.9 kg.

The head of the North Maluku BNNP, Brigadier General Agus Rohmat, explained that the 1.9 kg of marijuana that was secured from Aceh Province was planned to be brought to the Central Halmahera Regency for sale.

In this case, the suspect who was arrested with the initials AR alias A (36 years) was arrested in one of the goods delivery services when he was about to take 1.9 kilograms of packages suspected of containing dried marijuana ready for distribution.

"Based on the results of the examination and according to the confession, the goods will be brought to the Central Halmahera area and are currently under surveillance whether they will be distributed to residents or mining company areas, it is still under investigation," Agus said as quoted by ANTARA, Monday, August 28.

The marijuana sent by Addri Aceh to North Maluku was sent on Monday, July 24, 2023. The package was only taken by the suspect the next day.

"The package has arrived on Monday, but the person concerned has not been taken on purpose the next day," he said.

Agus also stated that during the examination the suspect also admitted that he had twice delivered marijuana.

"Previously, they had also made the same number of transactions and this third time they had just been arrested," he said.
