JAKARTA - After going through various stages of trials, the Jabodebek light rail transit or LRT operates officially starting this Monday, August 28.

In its operations, there are 18 stations that will serve Jabodebek LRT users. These stations are located in strategic locations such as residential areas to business areas, thus facilitating community mobility.

18 stations that will serve Jabodebek LRT passengers, namely Dukuh Atas Station, Setiabudi, Rasuna Said, Kuningan, Pancoran, Cikoko, Ciliwung, Cawang, TMII, Kampung Rambutan, Ciracas, Harjamukti, Halim, Jatibening Baru, Cikunir I, Cikunir II, West Bekasi, and Jati Mulya.

KAI's VP of Public Relations Joni Martinus said that each Jabodebek LRT station is also equipped with various supports to provide convenience for the community, ranging from escalators, stairs, elevators, toilets, breastfeeding rooms, prayer rooms, health rooms, passenger information display systems (PIDS), passenger announcements, and CCTV. In addition, various disability-friendly facilities have also been presented.

"At the Jabodebek LRT station, there are available elevators, traffic, gates, and special toilets to make it easier for customers with disabilities to use this mode of transportation," Joni said in his official statement, quoted Monday, August 28.

Especially for Cawang station, this location is an interchange station because it is a junction station or transit station.

From this station, Jabodebek LRT users from Harjamukti station who want to go to Jatimulya Station can stop first at Cawang Station and change trains to Jatimulya Station.

The Jabodebek LRT will also be integrated with various modes of public transportation because the location of the station is near the KRL station to the Transjakarta bus stop.

Before being officially operated, the Jabodebek LRT had several trials, including by President Joko Widodo (Jokowi).

During a recent trial, Jokowi admitted that he felt comfortable riding the Jabodebek LRT from Harjamukti Depok Station to Dukuh Atas Station, Jakarta. He had stopped to see the readiness of Cawang Station.

"I've ( Felt, Red) comfortable, I feel everyone is comfortable," said Jokowi.
