Anies And SBY Discuss Campaigns Including The Vice President With Team 8

JAKARTA - The meeting of presidential candidates Anies Baswedan with the Chairman of the High Council of the Democratic Party Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono (SBY) and Team 8 of the Change Coalition discussed, including the campaign strategy for the 2024 Presidential Election, including the announcement of the name of the candidate for vice president (readwapres).

Anies Baswedan when met in the courtyard of SBY's private residence in Puri Cikeas, Bogor, West Java, Friday, explained that the meeting no longer discussed the names of potential candidates for vice president (readwapres), because three solid parties supported Anies' decision to determine his companion's name in the 2024 Presidential Election (Pilpres).

"It's no longer talking about names. Don't talk about it all. Talk in the future what steps are going forward. We feel grateful that the Coalition for Change for Unity is solid, solid," Anies Baswedan said, quoting Antara.

Anies continued the meeting between himself, Team 8 of the Change Coalition and SBY marked the coalition between PKS, NasDem, and the solid Democratic Party to advance together in the 2024 presidential election.

"God willing, this is a sign that all of our messages to the people are endeavoring for a more advanced Indonesia, which is fairer, organized, is seriously pursued by this three-party coalition," said Anies.

On the same occasion, Anies also assessed that the meeting with SBY this Friday night was a provision for formulating a strategy to win himself in the 2024 presidential election.

"Earlier, Mr. SBY, who already had experience winning the presidential election twice, led the government (for) 10 years, gave us wisdom knowledge, a very rich experience, and earlier we all took it very seriously, and he also gave us all some notes that needed attention related to the current conditions," said Anies Baswedan.

After the press conference, one of the members of Team 8 Sudirman Said also confirmed the contents of the meeting, one of which discussed the right time to announce the name of the candidate for vice president.

"To us (Team 8) is given the task of thinking about the best time," said Sudirman.

The meeting between Anies Baswedan, Team 8, and SBY lasted for more than 2 hours in SBY's private library room.

During the meeting, almost all members of Team 8 of the Change Coalition were present, except Willy Aditya. However, there is the General Treasurer of NasDem Ahmad Sahroni.

Anies Baswedan is currently promoted by two opposition parties, PKS and the Democratic Party, as well as a party supporting the government, NasDem. The three parties formed a team called Team 8 to arrange a strategy to win Anies in the 2024 presidential election, including working on the names considered as candidates for deputy president to accompany Anies.

The 8 teams consist of Teuku Riefky and Iftitah Sulaiman Suryanegara from the Democratic Party, Sugeng Suparwoto and Willy Aditya from NasDem, Sohibul Iman and Al-Muzammil Yusuf from PKS, then Sudirman Said and Dadang Dirgantara who were Anies Baswedan's envoys.
