KUPANG - Kupang City Government, East Nusa Tenggara (NTT) Province has prepared more than 125,000 liters of free clean water to help local residents who experience a shortage of clean water during the 2023 dry season.
"We are preparing clean water assistance to overcome the shortage of clean water for the poor as a result of El Nino, because in the dry season as it is today, there is always a shortage of clean water," said Acting BPBD Kupang City Jefri Pelt in Kupang, Antara, Friday, August 25.
According to him, 125,000 liters of clean water was provided free of charge to poor people in every village experiencing a shortage of clean water.
He said the Kupang City BPBD also asked the village heads to immediately send data on residents who need free clean water assistance from the local government.
"If all urban villages have sent data on the target recipients of clean water assistance, the distribution of clean water can be carried out immediately," said Jefri Pelt.
He hopes that urban villages that have not entered the target data of beneficiaries to immediately enter data into BPBD, making it easier for officers to distribute clean water assistance for residents who need clean water.
According to him, if the assistance provided is still lacking, the Kupang City Government will add more allocations for assistance similar to the second phase in October 2023.
"Clean water is the family's need. Therefore, the Kupang City Government has prepared a large amount of clean water assistance, so that during the dry season the residents' clean water needs will still be met," said Jefri Pelt.
