Today ASN DKI Starts WFH, Jakarta's Air Quality Becomes The Fifth Worst Rank

JAKARTA - The DKI Provincial Government has started implementing work from home (WFH) for state civil servants (ASN) starting Monday, August 21, and air quality in Jakarta is the fifth worst in the world after Seattle City, United States.

Launching data from the IQAir website, Monday morning at 08.30, Jakarta is ranked fifth as the worst city of air quality in the world.

The level of good or bad air quality is assessed based on the PM 2.5 level. The higher the PM 2.5 figure, the worse the air quality in an area.

In Jakarta itself, as of 08.23 WIB today Monday morning, the city's 2.5 PM reaches 160. This indicates unhealthy air, not only for sensitive groups, but also for people in general.

Meanwhile, the city with the worst quality ranked first occupied by the City of Seattle, United States, with PM 2.5 as many as 192.

In second place, the city with the worst quality occupied by Doha, Qatar, with PM 2.5 as many as 170 Meanwhile, in third place, the city with the worst quality occupied by Portland City, United States with PM 2.5 was 167.

To note, air with PM 2.5 at number 0 means good air. PM 2.5 at moderate 51-100, PM 2.5 at 101-150 means unhealthy air for sensitive groups, and PM 2.5 at 150-200 means unhealthy air.

Meanwhile, PM 2.5 at 201-300 indicates that the air is very unhealthy and PM 2.5 at 301+ means that the air quality is an emergency.

To anticipate the bad impact of bad air quality in Jakarta, residents can wear masks when outside, turn on air filters (air purifiers), close windows to avoid dirty air, and avoid outdoor activities.
