The Case Of Lukas Enembe Continues To Grow, Papuan PON Funds Are Now Highlighted By The KPK

JAKARTA - The Corruption Eradication Commission (KPK) will continue to develop a corruption case that ensnared the inactive Papua Governor Lukas Enembe. One of them is the alleged riot related to the 2021 Papua National Sports Week (PON) implementation fund.

"Later on. That's the entry of PON funds. We'll see," said Acting Deputy for Enforcement and Execution of the KPK Asep Guntur to reporters at the KPK's Merah Putih building, Kuningan Persada, South Jakarta, Monday night, August 14.

Asep said this development was indeed carried out in stages. At least, there have been two clusters of alleged corruption that the anti-corruption commission has worked on.

First, the alleged receipt of gratuities and bribes that led to money laundering. "Then to (operational funds for, red) eat and drink," he said.

For information, the Papua Provincial Government spent more than Rp3.8 trillion in APBD funds to build and renovate stadiums for the 2021 Papua PON. In addition, the 2020 APBD funds used reached Rp2 trillion.

Then there is also the APBN reaching Rp2.3 trillion from the central government. From that budget, four sports arenas were built, namely Istora Papua Bangkit, aquatic arenas, as well as cricket arenas and indoor and outdoor hockey fields.

Previously reported, Lukas allegedly received bribes from the Director of PT Tabi Bangun Papua, Rijatono Lakka. Meanwhile, gratification is allegedly given by other private parties in order to get projects in Papua.

Tak hanya itu, Lukas dijerat dengan dugaan pidana pencucian uang. Langkah ini dilakukan setelah komisi antirasuah mengembangkan kasus suap dan gratifikasi yang menjeratnya.

Regarding the alleged money laundering, 27 of Lukas' assets were confiscated by the KPK. Among them are money worth Rp. 81,628,693,000; 5,100 US dollars; and 26,300 Singapore dollars; assets in the form of land and buildings; as well as precious metals.
