The Riau Islands Police Give An Explanation Of The Police Chief's Photo With Viral Fugitives

Head of Public Relations of the Riau Islands Police, Kombes Zahnawi Pandra Arsyad, gave an explanation regarding the viral photo of the Riau Islands Police Chief Inspector General Tabana Bangun taking pictures with a fugitive in the case of embezzlement of shophouse certificates in Batam with the initials TJ.

"The photo was taken at the moment when the Riau Islands Police Chief Inspector General Pol Tabana Bangun was just inaugurated," said Pandra in Batam as reported by ANTARA, Wednesday, August 9.

He explained that the photo was taken during a friendly activity with other invited guests who were present and the photo before the incident was set by TJ was included in the wanted list (DPO) by the Ditreskrimsus Polda Kepri.

Kombes Pandra emphasized that currently the case is still in the process of being investigated and is still ongoing.

As previously reported, two businessmen in Batam who are father and son are included in the DPO Ditreskrimsus Polda Kepri. Both are TJ, Director of PT. Jaya Putra Kundur and J as President Director of PT. Jaya Putra Kundur.

"They are included in the DPO after there was no good faith in fulfilling the police summons for the ongoing legal process," said Dirkrimsus Polda Kepri Kombes Nasriadi, Monday (15/5).

The Kepro Police previously determined the status of the suspects against the two. Both were involved in the case of embezzlement of shophouse units at the 2Business Center Partners Complex in Batam Center.

"So there are 59 customers or consumers who have become victims, from 2017, 2018 and 2019, there have been those who have canceled but have not received certificates of rights to build," he explained.
