As Many As 10 Firefighters Were Deployed, Help Men's Funerals With 210 Kg Obesity

As many as 10 personnel from the East Jakarta Fire and Rescue Sub-dept. (Sudin Gulkarmat) were deployed to evacuate the bodies of men with obesity in the Makasar sub-district.

The evacuation process was carried out after reports of requests for assistance from residents to the East Jakarta Gulkarmat Sub-dept. office.

"The identity of the body is named Sudarman (45), a resident of Makassar District. He has obesity weighing 210 kilograms," said Head of East Jakarta Gulkarmat Sub-dept., Gatot Sulaeman when confirmed by VOI, Tuesday, August 8.

Officers evacuated the victim's body from the funeral home located on Lembur Street, Makasar Village, Makasar District, East Jakarta.

"Residents ask for help in removing bodies into the grave. Because the bodies are obese or overweight," he said.

The body will later be taken to the Bambu Apus Public Cemetery (TPU), Cipayung District.

"We have deployed 2 rescue teams with 10 personnel. Officers have arrived at the location since 14.25 WIB. Currently, we are still waiting for information from the readiness of preparations at the TPU," he said.
