All About The 212 Demo This Afternoon

JAKARTA - The mass of the Islamic Defenders Front (FPI), GNPF Ulama, and the 212 Brotherhood Alumni (PA) will hold a demonstration entitled 'Eradicating Mega Corruption Save the Republic of Indonesia' in front of the State Palace, Jakarta. At the action that will take place, Friday, February 21, at around 13.30 WIB, the masses will give speeches about the incomplete case of the alleged corruption case of PT Asuransi Jiwasraya and the bribery that ensnared Harun Masiku and Wahyu Setiawan.

The general chairman of PA 212, Slamet Ma'arif said, the estimated number of participants who participated in the action reached tens of thousands of people. Later, the participants will first gather at the National Monument (Monas) area and then head to the front of the State Palace.

"The gathering point is focused on the Horse Statue. The estimation of the masses, God willing, we are sure of tens of thousands," said Slamet Ma'arif in Jakarta, Thursday, February 20.

The demonstration was also said to have obtained permission from the police which is recorded in the Receipt of Notification numbered STTP / 01 / II / 2020Dit.Intelkam. Regarding the permit for action, Head of Public Relations of Polda Metro Jaya Kombes Yusri Yunus confirmed this matter. So, his party will deploy personnel to keep the demonstration peaceful.

However, with regard to the number of colonels deployed, Yusri did not explain in detail. This is because there is no information regarding the number of people involved in the action. It's just that, he emphasized, the personnel who will be alerted are members from the Police and Polda Metro Jaya.

"We coordinate first, we don't know (the number of personnel). Later, only 20 will come, we'll prepare five thousand. said Yusri.

Not only guarding security, the police have also prepared traffic engineering around the Horse Statue to the State Palace. It was noted that there were seven traffic flows that would divert during the demonstration. However, the diversion of traffic flow will only be carried out if it is necessary or the accumulation of vehicles has occurred at the seven points of the road.

"The traffic flow will be applied situationally depending on the conditions at the location," said Head of Sub-Directorate for Bin Gakkum, Ditlantas Polda Metro Jaya, AKBP Fahri Siregar.

Current diversion

The following are the seven current diversions during the demonstration. First, the traffic flow from Jalan Veteran Raya going to Jalan Veteran III is straightened to the traffic light or Harmoni traffic light. Second, the traffic flow from Jalan Martim going to Jalan Merut is diverted to the right to Jalan Perwira.

Third, the traffic flow from Jalan Ridwan Rais which will go to Jalan Medan Merdeka Selatan will be straightened out to Jalan Medan Merdeka Timur. Fourth, the traffic from Jalan MH Thamrin which will go to the Horse Statue roundabout is turned left or right on Jalan Kebon Sirih. Fifth, the traffic from Jalan Abdul Muis which will turn left to Jalan Budi Kem Mulia is straightened to Jalan Fachrudin and the traffic from Jalan Fachrudin which will turn right to Jalan Budi Kem Mulia is straightened to Jalan Abdul Muis.

Sixth, the traffic from Jalan Tanah Abang II which will go straight to Jalan Museum will turn left or right, the traffic from Jalan Majapahit which will turn left to Jalan Museum is straightened to Jalan Abdul Muis; traffic flow from Jalan Abdul Muis which will turn right to Jalan Museum is straightened to Jalan Majapahit.
