The Natuna Police, Riau Islands provided counseling guidance to four minors whose videos went viral on social media after allegedly molesting a puppy to death.

"Yes, it is true that we have arrested four perpetrators of minors related to the viral video (of animal abuse) last night, Tuesday (1/8). They have been handled by the Women and Children Protection Unit (PPA) to be given counseling guidance," said Natuna Police Chief AKBP Nanang Budi Santosa as reported by ANTARA, Wednesday, August 2.

The incident of child abuse took place in April 2023, and has only been excited on social media in recent days.

Due to this incident, his party immediately conducted a search for these children to reduce the emotions of animal lovers.

After being secured, the four children were given counseling on what they were doing.

"Because they are still children, so the handling must be different. Do not let their mental state be damaged when called by investigators," he said.

In addition, his party will also summon religious leaders to provide direction to the children. Because from their fourth confession, they spontaneously abused the puppy because they saw the puppy in front of the mosque.

"So the children thought the dog was unclean when in front of the mosque, so they spontaneously abused the dog," he said.
