The Government of Mataram City, West Nusa Tenggara, issued a policy related to the addition of working hours of the local city government civil apparatus (ASN) until 17.00 WITA or an hour from the previous office time requirement at 16.00 WITA.
Assistant III of the Mataram City Secretariat, Baiq Evi Ganevia, said the addition of ASN working hours was a form of efficiency and effectiveness of the service.
"The operating hours Monday to Friday are fixed, namely 07.30 WITA and the Monday-Thursday break is still one hour at 12.00-13.00 WITA," he said in Mataram, quoted from Antara, Wednesday, August 2.
He said ASN working hours from 07.30 to 17.00 WITA were valid during Monday-Thursday, while on Friday ASN working hours were until 11.00 WITA.
"So we will add one hour for working hours Monday-Thursday, as compensation for working hours on Friday. So, ASN, especially Muslim ASN who come home from Friday prayers, can at the same time not go back and forth," he said.
The implementation of additional ASN working hours in Mataram City has started trials on August 1, 2023 and will be evaluated regularly.
"Yesterday (1/8) we started testing our return to work at 17.00 WITA. If it is effective, the rules for the additional working hours of the ASN will be permanently stipulated," he said.
He explained that the supervision of the new policy was carried out directly by each head of the regional apparatus organization (OPD).
"Especially for service OPDs, such as hospitals and health centers, working hours have not changed because they are six working days," he said.
Although the hours of returning from the employee office were delayed from Monday to Thursday and returned early on Friday, he said, this change did not reduce the overall working hours of employees.
"This change does not reduce ASN working hours for a week which is 37.5 hours. We only change the return time longer as a substitute for working hours on Friday who come home early, at 11.00 WITA," he said.
