JAKARTA - Acting Governor of DKI Jakarta Heru Budi Hartono emphasized that the Jakarta Smart Card (KJP) Plus cannot be traded.

"KJP cannot be sold, KJP is for clothes, bags, school equipment. If it was said that it was sold, it would be a food subsidy for KJP recipients," Heru said as quoted by ANTARA, Saturday, July 29.

KJP recipients, said Heru, are one of the groups of people who are entitled to receive subsidized food assistance. The food subsidies have been started by the Provincial Government (Pemprov) of DKI Jakarta since 2016.

The food subsidy is given to ensure the basic needs of children who go to school. If there is fraud or buying and selling KJP Plus, Heru will stop the food subsidy.

"Children are so that they are healthy, can go to school, compete, have the ability, get good knowledge, what do they eat? Give the chicken, meat, eggs, fish to be eaten by their children, not for sale," he said.

If the KJP Plus has been sold, said Heru, it will definitely stop its food subsidies.

Meanwhile, Head of the DKI Jakarta Food, Maritime and Agricultural Security Service (KPKP) Suharini Eliawati said that her party would follow up if there were findings.

Therefore, Suharini asked residents to report if there was a practice of buying and selling KJP Plus.

"If there is a buying and selling (food subsidies for KJP recipients), that is actually at this time, if there are complaints with pleasure, of course we will follow up together," he said.

If that happens in outlets or in locations where the exchange is located, he said, at that time the action was immediately taken.
