BOGOR - City Planning Observer Yayat Supriatna said the plan to build the Puncak-Cianjur Toll Road requires an in-depth study on aspects of the impact of the surrounding environment.

"Before there is certainty from the study of environmental impacts and potential natural disasters, it is better to study (development) more deeply," Yayat said as quoted by ANTARA, Monday, July 24.

According to him, the in-depth study is related to the land for prospective Puncak-Cianjur Toll Road which will pass through areas prone to changes in the landscape and potential landslides.

"This is the same as the discourse of the Peak Route II. Both cross vulnerable areas. The Puncak-Cianjur Toll Road is even more sensitive with environmental problems and forest areas," said Yayat, who is also a member of the Bogor Regency Strategic Development Acceleration Team (TP2S).

Yayat explained, with changes in the landscape due to road construction, it will change the environmental conditions that are crossed by the Puncak-Cianjur toll road.

The construction of the Puncak-Cianjur Toll Road and Puncak II Route has been stated in Presidential Instruction Number 3 of 2023 concerning the Acceleration of Increasing Connectivity of Regional Roads to organize the Puncak area.

West Java Governor Ridwan Kamil revealed that the Puncak-Cianjur Toll Road is a follow-up to the aspirations of the people of Bogor Regency and Cianjur Regency who are often victims of congestion on the Puncak Line.

Ridwan Kamil said the area to be passed by the Puncak-Cianjur Toll Road, starting from Caringin District, Megamendung in Bogor Regency to leaving in Cianjur Regency.

"From Caringin, Megamendung, to Cianjur, which will later be connected from Cianjur to Padalarang. Later it can be connected by the Cigatas Toll Road to Garut-Tasik-Ciamis-Banjar-Pandandaran, which is in the process of land acquisition," said Ridwan Kamil.

According to Ridwan Kamil, if the Puncak-Cianjur Toll Road starts operating simultaneously with the Bogor-Ciawi-Sukabumi (Bocimi) Toll Road, it will boost the West Java economy.

"The South West Java route will have a strong economy and path of road infrastructure," he said.

The construction of the Puncak-Cianjur Toll Road will be divided into five sections. Section I is 11.6 kilometers long, section II is 6.9 kilometers long, section III is 9.7 kilometers long, section IV is 7.3 kilometers long, and section V is 16.3 kilometers long.

Meanwhile, the Puncak II route is planned to have a road span of 62.8 kilometers, of which 48.7 kilometers are located in Bogor Regency and 18.5 kilometers are located in the Cianjur area.

Of the 18.5 kilometers, 15.5 kilometers long connects Warga Jaya Village, Sukamakmur District, Bogor Regency and Green22 on the Karawang border.

The road will be built in the Sentul-Hambalang-Sukamakmur-Pacet-Cipanas area. The area with a path length of 62.8 kilometers requires 116 hectares of land.

As much as 63 percent of them are grants from land owners. There are still 1.5 hectares of land that have not been acquired around the Sentul Circuit, one of which is access in and out of the Puncak II Line.
