The Governor of East Java (Jatim) Khofifah Indar Parawansa issued a Governor's Decree (Kepgub) regarding motorcycle taxi tariffs (rodes two) and taxis (four-wheeled) online as of July 10, 2023.

"There are two Kepgub that I signed on July 10, 2023. First, East Java Governor Decree Number 188/291/KPTS/013/2023 for online motorcycle taxis or two-wheeled vehicles. Second, East Java Governor Decree Number 188/290/KPTS/013/2023 for online taxis or four-wheeled vehicles," Khofifah told reporters in Surabaya as reported by ANTARA, Friday, July 21.

Governor Khofifah ensured that the two Kepgubs who set the upper and lower tariff limits for online motorcycle taxis and taxis had been officially enforced since July 10, 2023.

The details, for the Governor's Decree which regulates online taxis, contain a lower limit tariff rule of IDR 3,800 per kilometer and an upper limit rate of IDR 6,500 per kilometer.

As well as a minimum tariff of Rp. 15,200 per kilometer that must be paid by passengers for the first four kilometers.

The tariff is a tariff that has received an indirect discount, in the form of rental fees for the use of applications and includes mandatory insurance fees for passenger accidents and Jasa Raharja extra covers.

Meanwhile, the Governor's Decree which regulates online motorcycle taxis contains a lower limit service fee of Rp. 2,000 per kilometer, an upper limit service fee of Rp. 2,500 per kilometer and a minimum service fee of Rp. 8 thousand-Rp. 10 thousand.

Khofifah ensured that the two Kepgubs were the result of a joint agreement between the East Java Provincial Government (Pemprov), groups of motorcycle taxi drivers and online taxis, as well as applicators.

"We hope that the stipulation of the two Kepgubs can make the digital-based mass transportation ecosystem run better and prevent unhealthy competition between applicators. In addition, through this Governor Decree, it is hoped that the welfare of drivers can increase," he also said.

Governor Khofifah emphasized that the Governor's Decree that has been determined has legal force, so that anyone who violates it will be subject to sanctions.

"In addition to intensifying socialization, I have also ordered the ranks to oversee the implementation of the two Kepgub. If anyone does not comply, strict action will be taken," he said again.
