JAKARTA - Vice President Ma'ruf Amin asked prospective youth officers (capaja) to continue to hone their competence, abilities and improve self-quality and competitiveness to face challenges in line with the times.

This is one of the messages conveyed by the Vice President during the Briefing of Candidates for Youth Officers (Kapaja) of the TNI-Polri in 2023, at Balai Sudirman, Jakarta, Friday, July 21.

"To the candidates, I order them to continue to hone their competence and abilities. Improve self-quality and competitiveness to face various challenges in line with the times," said the Vice President as quoted by ANTARA.

The Vice President conveyed that the existence of acapaja education actually covers various crucial aspects for the birth of future leaders and does not stop at the implementation of professional education functions, but also the establishment of managerial, leadership, and academic competencies capabilities.

All of them, he said, narrowed their determination to build TNI and Polri institutions as at the forefront of maintaining security, enforcing the law, providing protection, and protecting the community by always upholding human rights.

The vice president hopes that in the future he will become a leader who can be imitated, tough and uphold integrity, as well as professional and trustworthy in carrying out his duties for society, nation and state.

The vice president asked the candidates to never stop in maintaining the values of the Sapta Marga, the Soldier's Oath, 8 Mandatory TNI, Tribrata, and Catur Prasetya Polri, as well as serving Pancasila, the 1945 Constitution, the Unitary State of the Republic of Indonesia, and Bhinneka Tunggal Ika.

Meanwhile, at the global level, the Vice President reminded Indonesia to continue to play its leadership. After being successful with the G20 Presidency, Indonesia is now trusted to play an important role with the chairmanship of ASEAN in 2023.

According to the Vice President, this proves that Indonesia has an important role in the world arena, and ASEAN in particular.

He emphasized that one of the goals of the state is to participate in maintaining world peace. For this reason, he said, Indonesia needs to continue to strengthen its central role as a motor of peace as well as global and regional welfare.

"Similarly, the increasing tension of geopolitical conflicts, which is one of the global threats in the future. Therefore, prospective TNI/Polri officers must have the capacity to read the changing international context," he said.

The vice president advised that capaja can continue to be creative, innovative, and adaptive to the increasingly complex phenomena of the new rule of law, as well as the problem of information globalization, which requires the state to continue to increase national resilience and security.

"Global threats that are soft power also need to be watched out for, such as issues of human rights, issues of global ideology and inequality, climate change and cybercrime will color the global context, including Indonesia," he explained.

The Vice President believes that capaja can be the spearhead of maintaining domestic security, by continuing to maintain commitment, hone their skills, and carry out leadership tasks wherever they are placed.

He asked capaja to show integrity, loyalty and professionalism to society, nation and state, as well as show intelligence, preparedness and scarcity to face future challenges.

Meanwhile, at the national level, where Indonesia is carrying out a tough task to realize Indonesia Gold 2045, the Vice President advised the candidates to continue to be persistent and loyal to continue historical tasks.

"Once again, I congratulate the duty of young Indonesian patriots. Join the honor, serve the parents, homeland and nation on the basis of faith in God Almighty. Continue the struggle of the nation's predecessors by actively contributing significantly to development," he said.

The TNI Commander Admiral Yudo Margono in his report conveyed that the number of prospective TNI/Polri youth officers in 2023 who attended was 833 people, consisting of 357 TNI AD candidates, 94 Navy candidates, 114 Indonesian Air Force capaja and 268 police candidates.

"They have all completed a four-year education period in their respective agencies. God willing, they will be sworn in July 26, 2023 at the State Palace," said the TNI Commander.

Meanwhile, National Police Chief General Listyo Sigit Prabowo expressed his gratitude to the Vice President for his willingness to provide briefing to TNI/Polri candidates.

The National Police Chief hopes that the briefing of the Vice President can be useful forcapaja in starting the task of serving the community, nation and state.
