NGAWI - PDIP Presidential Candidate Ganjar Pranowo was greeted enthusiastically by tens of thousands of Ngawi residents, Sunday, July 16. Along the way to Ngawi Kepatihan, residents who had been waiting for Ganjar's arrival, seemed to be scrambling to get closer and shake hands.

Ganjar came to Ngawi to watch the Reog Ponorogo Parade event and the Joint Sambal Welut Makan Festival. A total of 30 Reog art groups complete with Jaranan and Bujang Ganong dancers enlivened the event.

Together with his wife, Siti Atikoh and the Regent of Ngawi Ony Anwar Harsono, Ganjar seemed to be enjoying the traditional art performances that were famous throughout the country. Ganjar and his wife were also invited to dance with the dancers Reog, Jaranan and Bujang Ganong.

Wearing a Warok rope on the waist, Ganjar and his wife danced happily. Both of them tried to follow the dancer's movements while greeting the community.

"Pak Ganjar turned out to be good at dancing. Earlier he was beside me and danced agilely. Mother was also flexible," said Natalia, a Jaranan dancer who appeared at the event.

It took Ganjar and his wife to dance with the artists of Reog throughout Ngawi Regency for a long time. The applause of the community thundered when the two of them finished dancing.

"Senengnya Pak Ganjar datang ke Ngawi. Orangnya handsome dan sekali ramah sekali," celuk beberapa momak-emak di tempat itu.

After dancing, Ganjar was then invited to eat with a rice chili sauce menu. Residents also ate thousands of chili sauce rice which were distributed for free.

"The event is extraordinary, I am very happy to be invited to this cultural arts festival featuring this Reog art. Not only from Ngawi, but also from other areas around it," said Ganjar.

Reog's art, Ganjar continued, is a very famous Indonesian original cultural art. Not only in Java, but in Lampung, in North Sumatra, even in foreign countries. For example in Suriname, the art of Reog is highly loved.

"And I'm happy, there were a lot of young people playing Reog. I'm a person who never worries about our culture will disappear. In fact, our traditional culture will continue to be sustainable and continue to develop," he said.

Ganjar also offered creative young people to make games with the character Reog Ponorogo. That way, children can play with the original character of the art from Indonesia.

"If necessary, make a game-making competition with the character Reog Ponorogo. Involve creative young people to make it, so that this justuhung art will not become extinct by the progress of the times," he concluded.
