The Southeast Sulawesi High Prosecutor's Office (Kejati) said the state's losses to alleged corruption in nickel mining that operates in the North Konawe Regency (Konut) were estimated at IDR 5.7 trillion.

"The state loss due to nickel mining activities in the area is based on a temporary calculation of auditors reaching Rp5.7 trillion," said Assistant Intelligence (Asintel) of the Southeast Sulawesi Attorney General's Office (Sultra) Ade Hermawan in a statement reported by ANTARA, Wednesday, July 12.

Even so, Ade has not explained in detail where the figures and items of state losses that have been calculated by his party together with the auditors related to the alleged corruption case of nickel mining in the North Konawe area are currently being handled by investigators at the Southeast Sulawesi Prosecutor's Office.

In the case of alleged corruption in nickel mining in the North Konawe Regency area, the Southeast Sulawesi High Prosecutor's Office has named four suspects.

The four suspects are the General Manager of PT A with the initials HW, the Director of PT KKP with the initials AA, the executor of PT LAM with the initials GS, including the Director of PT LAM with the initials OS.

However, only two suspects were detained, namely the initials GS and HW after their status was determined as suspects. Both were detained at the Kendari Class II A State Detention Center (Rutan).

The Southeast Sulawesi Prosecutor's Office said that the suspect GS was suspected of being involved in selling nickel ore without a permit, and was even suspected of selling it to a number of smelters using flying documents belonging to one of the PT KKP companies whose director has now been named a suspect.

The suspect HW in this case is said to be aware of allegations of mining corruption from operational cooperation (KSO) between PT A and PT LAM.

"HW (allegedly) was involved in the KSO problem. He is considered to have knowledge of illegal nickel ore sales. They are exploiting it," he explained.

In addition to examining HW as a suspect, investigators from the Southeast Sulawesi Prosecutor's Office have also examined other parties from PT A including the former President Director of PT A with the initials DA as the person who signed the operational cooperation (KSO) for the sale of nickel ore.

Most recently, the Southeast Sulawesi Prosecutor's Office has arrested another suspect, namely the President Director of PT LAM with the initials OS. The suspect OS was arrested by the Southeast Sulawesi Prosecutor's Investigation Team assisted by the DKI Prosecutor's Office Team and the West Jakarta Kejari at the Lawu Taman Sari Building, West Jakarta, on Wednesday at around 17.00 WIB.

After being arrested, the suspect OS was immediately taken to the Attorney General's Office for examination. The suspect will then be detained at the Salemba Rutan, Attorney General's Branch.

"In the near future it will be taken to the Kendari Detention Center for further investigation," explained Ade.

The Southeast Sulawesi Prosecutor's Office continues to investigate who was involved in the alleged criminal act of mining corruption in one of the areas of North Konawe Regency.
