Observers Call President Jokowi's Support Leading To Prabowo Subianto

JAKARTA - Executive Director of Indonesian Political Parameters Adi Prayitno assessed that President Joko Widodo's support in the 2024 Presidential Election led to Gerindra Party Chair Prabowo Subianto. in a written statement received by Antara in Jakarta, Sunday, Adi said this because according to him Jokowi's political stance has not yet fully anchored to the presidential candidate (candidate) from the PDI-P Ganjar Pranowo.

"Jokowi's political stance has not been fully addressed to Ganjar Pranowo because at the same time, supporters of Prabowo Subianto and Gerindra claimed Jokowi's political choice in 2024 led to Prabowo," he said.

In addition, he also said that the closeness of Jokowi and Prabowo affected Prabowo Subianto's electability as a presidential candidate who tended to increase.

"And that explains why Prabowo Subiantorelatively's electability is now so tight with Ganjar Pranowo," he said.

Adi said that Prabowo Subianto's recent increase in electability was a political blessing from the intimacy and closeness of the Minister of Defense with Jokowi.

"This means that Gerindra has obtained political blessings and the effects of intimacy and closeness that Jokowi has always shown with Prabowo Subianto in this condition," he added.

If this situation continues until February 2024, Adi believes that there will be a negative influence on Ganjar Pranowo and the PDI-P.

"Of course, Ganjar Pranowo is certainly PDIP, because Jokowi is considered not entirely to PDIP and Ganjar Pranowo," he added.

A survey conducted by Indonesia Political Opinion (IPO) from 5 to 13 June 2023 stated that Prabowo Subianto was ranked first in the simulation of three presidential candidates with 37.2 percent electability.

Meanwhile, Anies Baswedan followed in second place by gaining support reaching 31.5 percent and followed by Ganjar Pranowo who won 26.8 percent of the vote.
