The Bali I Gusti Ngurah Rai Airport Police Traffic Unit (Satgas) has thwarted the departure of four Indonesian citizens who plan to leave for Qatar. Head of the Ngurah Rai International Airport Police Criminal Investigation Unit Iptu Rionson Ritonga in his statement in Denpasar, Bali, Wednesday said that of the four Indonesian citizens, three people were suspected of being victims of TIP, while one person was suspected of being the distributor of the workers of the three victims.

Rionson said the four people were secured at the I Gusti Ngurah Rai Airport Police Headquarters for further investigation and development because they could not show completeness of documents upon arrival at the International Departure Terminal of I Gusti Ngurah Rai Airport, Bali.

"The information we got was then coordinated with the Immigration Class 1 Special for TPI Ngurah Rai regarding the planned departure of four Indonesian citizens who were going abroad," he said.

He stated that from the results of the examination of three victims, all of whom were women, each with the initials Y (39) from West Java Bandung, SR (48) from Banyuwangi, East Java and AE (46) from Tasikmalaya, West Java.

Meanwhile, a female perpetrator as a courier or dealer has been named a suspect with the initials ERS (41) from Purwakarta, West Java.

He explained that after examining the three victims of Indonesian Migrant Workers (PMI) abroad and/or the Crime of Trafficking in Persons (TPPO), the Satreskrim coordinated with the Bali Province Indonesian Migrant Workers Protection Service Center (BP3MI) for handling or repatriation of victims to their place of origin.

"The handover of the three victims to BP3MI was carried out yesterday afternoon (Tuesday, 27/6/2023)," he said.

Ritonga also said that for the evidence that had been confiscated, four passports each, four boarding passes to Bangkok and two cellphones.
