DKI Transportation Agency Criticized By Bajaj Drivers Throughout Jakarta Due To Often Taking Action Without A Ticket And Paying Evidence

JAKARTA - The DKI Jakarta Transportation Service Office on Jalan Jati Baru Rata, Cideng, Tanah Abang District, Central Jakarta will be demoted by bajaj drivers from the DKI Jakarta area on Thursday, June 15. The chairman of the Bajaj Jakarta Association, Wartika Saputra, said this was done because the bajaj drivers were furious at the Transportation Agency who always ticketed bajaj when conducting raids. Wartika said that bajaj drivers were also often asked for a ransom of Rp. 500 thousand and paid a ticket of Rp. 150 thousand by the Transportation Agency. Besides the high cost of fines for fines, bajaj drivers admitted that they strongly objected because their daily income was only Rp. 30 thousand. "Bajaj drivers are already hot, bajaj drivers when arrested, are blocked not ticketed," said Wartika when contacted, Thursday, June 15. "So we have to pay double, again, the situation is like thisboro-boro can eat, drivers are restless looking for money," he added. Furthermore, Wartika said, bajaj drivers are often caught by officers because it is difficult to find a place to hang out for passengers. Moreover, bajaj has now been eliminated as transportation in DKI Jakarta because many have switched to using online motorcycle taxis and Jaklingko.

"Bajaj was even eliminated by Jaklingko, so I don't have room for an orientation to find passengers. So I'm hanging out in a crowded place, like that (arrested)," he said. Wartika said, the goal of going to the Dishub Office was because they were confused about where to complain so that their voices were heard. Moreover, every time they pay the ransom, they never get a letter or written evidence from the Transportation Agency. "(Directed) 500 thousand but can't bring out (evidence), can't say it because they can't issue a sign of evidence. If it's heard, it's clear that Rp. 150 thousand if it's ticketed.
