AMBON - Acting Minister of Communication and Information (Menkominfo) MahfudMD said the network in a number of towers (powers) in the 4G Base TransceiverStation (BTS) project began to connect.

"Now many have started to connect, because since this case surfaced one month ago, we have continued to build as much and as quickly as possible," said MahfudMD in Ambon City, Maluku, as reported by ANTARA, Wednesday, June 14.

Mahfud reiterated that the BTS4G Kemenkominfo project will continue despite the discovery of a case of alleged corruption in it by the Attorney General's Office (AGO).

"Indeed, there is a power-power which is actually ready; but when checked by BPKP (Financial and Development Supervisory Agency), the network is not yet connected," he continued.

Based on the findings of BPKP, he added, out of a total of around Rp. 10 trillion provided for the 4G BTS project, it was found that the available goods were only worth around Rp. 2 trillion.

"Based on the results of the BPKP examination, around Rp. 8 trillion was allegedly misused or corrupted," he said.

In the corruption case that cost the state finances Rp8.3 trillion, investigators named seven suspects, namely Anang Achmad Latif (AAL) as President Director of BAKTI Ministry of Communication and Information Technology, Gapok Menak (GMS) as President Director of PT Mora Telematika Indonesia

Then Yohan Suryanto (YS) as a Human Development (HUDEV) expert at the University of Indonesia in 2020, Mukti Ali (MA) a suspect from PT Huwaei Technology Investment, Irwan Hermawan (IH) as Commissioner of PT Solitchmedia Synergy, and WindiPurnama as a confidant of IH.

Furthermore, the Minister of Communication and Information, Johnny G. Plate, was also named a suspect in the case.

Meanwhile, regarding JohnnyG's attorney's statement. Plateyang said his client was ready to become a collaborator for justice collaborator in the case, Mahfud said it was under the authority of the Attorney General's Office.

Mahfud said there are certain conditions so that a person can be designated as a collaborator of justice.

"That should be handled by the prosecutor's office. So, if you want to be a justice collaborator or what it is, there are processes and conditions for yourself," said MahfudMD.
