The Head of the Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD) of Situbondo Regency, Sruwi Hartanto, explained that the teak forest fire in the Baluran National Park area of Sumberwaru Village, Banyuputih District, occurred at around 21.30 WIB.
"The forest fire that we received at around 20.30 WIB, after receiving information from officers from the BPBD, the location and fire were successfully extinguished at 21.40 WIB," Sruwi said as quoted by ANTARA, Monday, June 12.
A teak forest fire occurred in the Pengarengan Block, Watunumpuk RPTN. The teak and twigs and shrubs that started to dry up this year's dry season made the fire spread quickly.

"As soon as they received the fire information, the Balan National Park officers together with the SPTN W II fire department arrived at the Pengarengan Block at around 21.45 WIB," he added.
To extinguish the fire of teak forests in the Baluran National Park area, Sruwi added, the fire was extinguished manually using akepyokdanjet shooter, so that the fire did not spread to other areas.
