Police Response To Bripka Andry Asks For LPSK Protection After Leaking 'Pemalakan' Kompol Petrus

JAKARTA - The National Police stated that they would provide protection for Bripka Andry Darma Irawan. The National Police reasoned that protecting was one of the main tasks of the Bhyangkara Corps.

Bripka Andry was originally asked for protection from the Witness and Victim Protection Agency (LPSK). The application was made after Bripka Andry leaked the burglary action carried out by Kompol Petrus Hottiner Simamora as his superior.

"In principle, the police have the main task of protecting, serving, and protecting. Yes, if Bripka Andry really needs protection, of course as people who feel, surely we will protect," said Karo Penmas, Police Public Relations Division, Brigadier General Ahmad Ramadhan, to reporters, Thursday, June 8.

However, for now, said Ramadhan, the reason Bripka Andry asked for protection, including LPSK. Allegedly, the move was taken because he was worried that threats would arise after leaking the practice of deposits to superiors.

"So we don't know yet, ask for protection, whether there is a threat or what, but in principle it is our duty, the duty of the police. Whoever asks for police protection, we must provide protection," he said.

Meanwhile, regarding the process of handling the deposit problem, Ramadhan did not provide the latest explanation. It was emphasized that the case had been handled properly by the Riau Police.

"The details will be explained by the Riau Police. We trust that yesterday it was stated that if there is involvement, say its superiors, it will be dealt with," said Ramadhan.

Bripka Andry Darma Irawan is a member of the Riau Police Mobile Brigade. He was in the spotlight for uploading his vent on social media. It contained a deposit of Rp. 650 million to Commissioner Petrus H Simamora who was his superior.

He dismantled the deposit because Bripka Andry was annoyed. This member of the Riau Police Mobile Brigade was transferred to Battalion A Pekanbaru.

The transfer of the task was considered by Bripka Andry unfair. Because, he didn't make any mistakes. In fact, Bripka Andry always gave deposits to his superiors.
