17 Fleet Of Foreign Warship Ships Anchored In The Makassar Sea

A total of 17 foreign warships (KPA) docked in the Makassar Sea to enliven the 2023 Multilateral Naval Exercise Komodo (MNEK) activity which was attended by 36 countries in Makassar City.

"A variety of series of events are presented, one of which is the International Fleet Review (IFR) and internationalties on maritime affairs," said Makassar Mayor Moh. Ramdhan Pomanto on the sidelines of accompanying the TNI Commander Admiral Yudo Margono at the opening of the MNEK 2023 in Makassar, reported by ANTARA, Monday, June 5.

The delegates from 36 countries traveled the Makassar City ocean to greet and see firsthand the 17 warships lined up on the sea.

This moment is very memorable. The reason is, the troops from this foreign warship received mutual respect from the sailing pass of the entire fleet of warships participating in the MNEK 2023 to Danny and the Commander in Chief on the KRI Bung Karno ship.

Sailing pass itself is one of the Navy traditions of all Indonesian Navy personnel towards state guests and delegations of friendly countries when attending international-scale activities.

"This is a very memorable moment. The presence of MNEK 2023 makes Makassar stronger and has its own position in the eyes of the world. These warships are lined up in the Makassar Sea. I am proud," said Danny.

Danny also saw the moment of strengthening relations between countries.

"This city of Makassar has become a history that a closer relationship between countries from all over the world has been established. It has formed a commitment to increase better cooperation in the future with the Indonesian Navy," Danny said.

MNEK is a non-commissioned exercise that prioritizes maritime cooperation in areas, disaster management, and humanitarian operations in order to strengthen cooperation between the Indonesian Navy and allied countries.

This activity presents 36 countries. Among them, the United States, Australia, Brazil, Brunei Darussalam, Bangladesh, Cambodia, Canada, China, Chile, Fiji, India, India, Japan, Kenya, South Korea, Malaysia, Myanmar, New Zealand, Netherlands, Oman, Philippina, Pakistan, France, Papua New Guinea, Qatar, Singapore, Srilanka, Spain, Russia, Thailand, Turkey, Timor Leste, United Kingdom, and Vietnam.
