JAKARTA - Polda Metro Jaya has prepared a team of doctors and psychologists for cases of domestic violence (KDRT) for married couples (couples) with the initials B and PB in Depok, West Java.
"We have prepared a medical team and also a psychologist," said Director of General Criminal Investigation of the Metro Jaya Police, Kombes Hengki Haryadi, as reported by ANTARA, Friday, May 26.
Kombes Hengki explained that the medical team would do its job to further study the injuries of the victim, including the suspect's husband.
"Was the wound a direct result of the act committed by his wife or not?" he said.
Hengki conveyed that the medical team was sent down because her husband B had a significant swelling in the sensitive area due to the actions of his wife, PB.
In addition, Hengki explained that after conducting an in-depth investigation, it was found that this case was not the first time B had done this.
"After we learned, this persecution against the wife or victim was not only once. In 2016, it turned out that it had been reported but there was'restorative justice' (peace)," he said.
Hengki also said that to ensure the objectivity of this investigation process, his party had collaborated with stakeholders related to this case.
"Involving Komnas Perempuan, then UPTD PPA (Technical Implementing Unit for Women and Children Protection) DKI Jakarta, then involving the Ministry of Women's Empowerment and Child Protection, then if necessary we will coordinate with LPSK (Witness and Victim Protection Agency)," he said.
Kombes Hengki, the former Central Jakarta Police Chief also said that he would continue to prioritize resolving this case with restorative justice.
"As conveyed by the Kapolda, because in this domestic violence law, one of the enthusiasms in the principle and goal is the integrity of the household, of course, whether there is a desire for'restorative justice', we open space," he concluded.
Previously, Polda Metro Jaya took over the case of domestic violence between husband and wife with the initials B and PB in Depok, West Java, where both were named suspects.
"Given that this development has become a public concern, seeing also from the aspect of the context of completeness capability, both structurally the capabilities of personnel, this case will be carried out by Polda Metro Jaya at the Directorate of General Criminal Investigation," said Head of Public Relations of Polda Metro Jaya Kombes Trunoyudo Wisnu Andiko.
Trunoyudo also explained the reason for the delegation of the case to the Directorate of General Criminal Investigation of the Metro Jaya Police because there was a work unit of the Sub-Directorate of Youth, Children and Women (Renakta).
