Bogor Mayor, West Java, Bima Arya Sugiarto invited the French government to invite entrepreneurs in his country to invest in tram transportation and other areas of the economy in his area whose infrastructure is being heavily reorganized.

"Especially investment in trams and other economic opportunities. I convey the economic growth rate of Bogor City above the average economic growth of West Java and nationally," Bima said in a written statement quoted by ANTARA, Thursday, May 25.

Bima Arya met with French Ambassador Fabien Penone in Jakarta, Monday (22/5), who discussed plans for collaboration in various fields.

Fabien Penone said this year his party will hold a French culinary festival in cities in Indonesia. The French Embassy will discuss further with the Association of Indonesian City Governments (APEKSI) chaired by Bima Arya to hold the event.

The meeting became the beginning of communication so that during the festival activities a group of French companies and Governments knew about the potential for investment in Bogor City.

"The plan (the culinary festival) will start in September 2023, the first possibility is Bogor City," said Bima Arya.

Bima Arya also revealed about the agenda of a working visit to Paris on May 25-27, 2023 to strengthen cooperation relations between cities in France and Indonesia, in this case APEKSI.

APEKSI, Bima said, will take the opportunity for cooperation in the fields of economic, social, cultural, and educational with institutions in France. Fabien Penone really welcomes the plan.

"I convey to the Ambassador, Paris will continue the meeting with MEDEF International. This MEDEF is like the Kadin of Paris. Later there will be 49 companies to be met to offer various opportunities for cooperation at the Bogor City Government. Bogor City is a service city, we are very open to investment," said Bima.

Bima Arya's visit to Paris will also be filled with an agenda meeting with Hind Benito (Deputy Head of Financial Sector) and Colas Rail France and EGIS International.

Followed by a meeting with Philippe Louis-Dreyfus (Chairman of the France-Indonesia Business Council of MEDEF/Supervisory Board of the Louis Dreyfus Armateurs), and Gerard Wolf (Chairman of the Sustainable City Task Force of MEDEF/Chairman of BRICS Access).

Then met with Isnandar (RI Permanent Delegation for UNESCO) at UNESCO Headquarters, Paris.
