Maluku Police Investigate Fraud Mode Of Passing Candidates For Police Students With Tens Of Millions Of Money

The Maluku Regional Police investigated the fraudster who called one of the parents of a prospective police officer who passed the chassis by paying Rp50 million.

The fraudster contacted the victim via cell phone and on behalf of Karo HR of the Maluku Police. The perpetrator then asked the victim to transfer Rp50 million.

"Reports that are currently coming in are Casis' parents who were deceived. They have even transferred a sum of money to the perpetrator's account of approximately Rp. 50 million," said Head of Public Relations of the Maluku Police, Kombes M. Roem Ohoirat, in Ambon as reported by ANTARA, Tuesday, May 23.

Roem revealed that the victim was deceived after being promised that his son, who was previously declared ineligible (TMS), could be passed. The condition is that the victim must transfer some money.

"This perpetrator took the names of Karo HR, and so on. They asked for money so that the chassis that did not pass could be passed. The parents of the chassis also believed it very quickly," he said.

Ohoirat emphasized that chassis, which has not passed, will not be possible to follow the next stage, even though it has paid a certain amount of money.

"So don't be fooled if someone claims to be able to pass another person who has not passed before. Because the current system is directly connected to the center (Police Headquarters)," he recalled.

Against the chassis who are still following the selection stage for the Police's acceptance, the spokesman for the Maluku Police again reminded them to believe in themselves.

"For chassis who are still participating in the selection, once again we remind you not to believe people who promise to pass as members of the National Police. Moreover, ask for help from others. Because if it is known, it will be immediately declared dead," he asserted.

Currently the police are still investigating. The fraudster contacted the parents of the chassis with the number HP 082196869055. After checking, the person concerned was named Samaila.

"The results of the temporary investigation revealed that the fraud perpetrator on behalf of Karo HR was detected in South Sulawesi," said Roem.

He admitted that currently, the Maluku Police have also coordinated with the South Sulawesi Regional Police because the perpetrators were detected in Sidenreng Rappang Regency.
