JAKARTA - President of the Prosperous Justice Party (PKS) Ahmad Syaikhu targets his party to win 15 percent of the DPR seats in the 2024 General Election (Pemilu).

"God willing, in the upcoming elections, we will achieve a minimum target of 15 percent. Amen," said Ahmad Syaikhu when delivering his remarks at PKS' 21st Anniversary at Istora Senayan, Central Jakarta, as reported by ANTARA, Saturday, May 20.

In the 2019 election, Ahmad Syaikhu revealed that PKS managed to get 11.49 million votes or 8.21 percent of the total national legitimate votes.

Therefore, he hopes that there will be an increase for PKS for the 2024 General Election.

Ahmad Syaikhu explained that PKS upholds civilized politics. Politics based on the values of One Godhead and Humanity.

"Presenting unity and benefit together, not politics that spreads stigma, hatred, let alone division," he said.

He said PKS carried out politics wisely through deliberation and representatives to realize social justice.

"So God willing, it will bring a victory full of blessings and dignity," he said.

PKS, said Ahmad Syaikhu, will continue to build optimism to continue the ideals of the nation's founders in protecting the entire Indonesian nation and all of Indonesia's bloodshed and to advance public welfare, educate the nation's life and participate in implementing world order based on independence, eternal peace, and social justice.

"One part of this optimism is to participate in producing new national leadership with the NasDem Party and the Democratic Party," said Ahmad Syaikhu.

Based on ANTARA's monitoring, the prospective presidential candidate for the Change Coalition for Unity (KPP) Anies Baswedan runs with former Vice President of the Republic of Indonesia Jusuf Kalla on the 21st Anniversary stage of the Prosperous Justice Party (PKS).

The KPP consists of three parties, namely NasDem, Democrats, and PKS.

Chairman of the PKS Syuro Council Dr. Salim Segaf, PKS Secretary General Aboe Bakar Al-Habsyi, Deputy Chairman of the MPR RI Ahmad Basarah, Chairman of the Democrats Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono (AHY), and Deputy General Chairperson of NasDem Ahmad Ali also attended the 21st Anniversary of PKS.

Habib Aboe explained a number of national figures who would deliver national speeches canceled their attendance to the location. The names that were canceled were among them, Chairman of the NasDem Party Surya Paloh and the Upper House of Democrats Susilo Bambang Yudhoyono (SBY).

SBY was replaced by his son and Chairman of the Democrats Agus Harimurti Yudhoyono (AHY)

Meanwhile, Surya Paloh was replaced by NasDem Deputy Chairman Ahmad Ali.

Habib Aboe said the event was attended by all Branch Leadership Councils (DPC) and PKS Regional Leadership Council (DPW) from all over Indonesia.

"Furthermore, figures, expert councils, advisory councils, DPWs throughout Indonesia, representatives present from Sabang to Merauke, 38 provinces," he said.
