Dozens Of People Trapped In Elevators In Pakuwon Building, South Jakarta, One Person Experiences Trauma

JAKARTA - A total of 11 people were trapped in the elevator of the Pakuwon Tower building, Kasablanka, Tebet, South Jakarta. One person was injured. Tebet Police Chief, Commissioner Chitya Intania confirmed the incident. The incident occurred Monday, May 8, at 19.30 WIB.

He added that the victim, who suffered injuries, was in shock trauma. The victim, after being successfully evacuated, was immediately rushed to the Great Hospital, Setiabudi.

"No casualties and 1 injured victim," Chitya said when confirmed, Tuesday, May 8.

Regarding the chronology of the incident, it started when the time had entered work, then all employees came down using elevator access.

At 19.15 WIB, the elevator incident fell and it turned out that there were 11 employees of the Pakuwon Tower building who were in the elevator.

The 47-story PAKUWON Tower building consists of 18 emergency lifts. (Lift who crashed) The H9 elevator was 7 people (trapped), the H8 elevator was 3 people, and the H6 elevator was 1 person," said Chitya.

Luckily, 15 members of the Tebet Police and also 5 personnel from the South Jakarta Firefighters were immediately deployed to evacuate the victims who were trapped in the elevator. As a result, at around 21.50 WIB all the victims could be evacuated.

Meanwhile, Pakuwon Tower Casablanca management confirmed that as many as a dozen people from three traffic jam lifts had all been evacuated.

Regarding the incident, it started with an elevator that experienced traffic jams at around 18.45 WIB. However, at that time his party did not know that there were three elevator units that had experienced an elevator (error).

Shortly thereafter, his party heard the sound of a bang from several people from the building. His party checked.

"The results were found that three elevators were jammed on different floors, namely floors 5, 27, 47 and his party carried out manual evacuations," he said.

"What made the evacuation of this elevator a long time stop in the middle of the route because there was only a high zone with a midzone and there was no door at the midzone level," he continued.

In the procedure, his party is waiting for the three elevators to be safe so that the victims can be evacuated to have their health checked at the hospital. In addition, his party also ensures to prioritize pregnant women and certain diseases to survive this unwanted incident.

However, despite experiencing elevator damage, he confirmed that the Pakuwon Tower Casablanca building starting tomorrow, Tuesday, May 9, will still be opened. However, there may be some elevators that are not running.
