PALEMBANG - The Palembang City Government, South Sumatra, reviewed the Mayor's Regulation (Perwali) Number 26 of 2019 concerning the regulation of the inner city freight car route following the large number of goods transport trucks that violated the regulation.

Assistant III for General Administration of the Regional Secretariat (Setda) Palembang Zulkarnain said his party had coordinated with various parties to evaluate and review the Perwali.

"We have coordinated with the Ditlantas Polda, Polrestabes, then Pelindo, Balai Besar Jalan, Dishub cities and provinces, BPTD, and legal sections to see if this guardianship needs to be revised," he said, quoted by ANTARA, Monday, May 8.

He said that in this case, studies and input from various parties were needed so that the guardianship would not harm one party.

"We need input from various related parties such as the community, community organizations, and Pelindo to unite their agreement and then we will put it in Perwali later," he said.

In addition, he explained that controlling operating hours still refers to the Perwali, but his party together with the police continue to control a number of roads for truck drivers who violate these rules.

"Dishub cooperates with the police, continues to carry out supervision and control and then put the sign on a number of sections that read operating hours entering this city so that no one violates these rules anymore," he explained.

Regarding the construction of parking bags, he said, the Palembang City Government will cooperate with a number of related companies, because so far there have been no parking bags, so there are also many trucks transporting parking goods on the protocol road.

Meanwhile, the Secretary of the Palembang City Transportation Service, Agus Supriyanto, said that the guardianship needs to be reviewed and socialized with related parties through approval from the Governor of South Sumatra.

"From the technical side, later there will be a group discussion (FGD) forum, later we will receive input from the public, related institutions," he said.
