KRI Wahidin Alerted In Labuan Bajo For Mitigation Of Health Problems At The ASEAN Summit

Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal and Security Affairs Mahfud MD said the government was preparing the Warship of the Republic of Indonesia (KRI) dr. Wahidin Sudirohusodo-911 in Labuan Bajo to mitigate health problems at the 42nd ASEAN Summit.

"Mitigation and anticipation that there will be problems with health that require doctors, at KRI Wahidin, all advanced digital equipment is available, and 11 specialist doctors," Mahfud said in front of the media crew in Labuan Bajo, East Nusa Tenggara (NTT), Monday, May 8, was confiscated by Antara.

The 42nd ASEAN Summit will take place in Labuan Bajo from 9-11 May 2023, which is planned to be attended by a number of ASEAN state leaders who will discuss issues of common interest.

In this chairmanship, Indonesia has the theme "ASEAN Matters: Epicentrum of Growth", in which high-ranking officials will discuss the draft Vision of ASEAN Post-2025 towards ASEAN 2045 which will be directed by ASEAN leaders.

Meanwhile, KRI dr. Wahidin Sudirohusodo-911 is a warship with the type of a Hospital Assistance Ship (KBRS) that will carry out medical treatment if there are Summit participants or sick security personnel.

For medical personnel, the ship belonging to the Indonesian National Army (TNI) Navy (AL) provides 11 specialist doctors, 28 nurses, and one laboratory analyst.

For the treatment room, the ship provides 156 treatment room beds, three ICU beds, and two High Care Unit/HCU beds, four sterile operating rooms, and one non-sterile operating room.

Then, also provide one Pharmacy and Pharmacy Warehouse, one Mobile Hyperbaric Chamber, two Ambulance Boats, and Road Care Clinics.

Indonesia's chairmanship in ASEAN 2023 began on January 1, 2023, after previously receiving a leadership "stick" from Cambodia, with a symbolic handover from Cambodia on November 13, 2022.

Indonesia has served as chairman five times in 1976, 1996, 2003, 2011, and 2023.
