Deputy PAN Affirms Indonesian Mandate Volunteers Supporting Anies Has Nothing To Do With PAN

JAKARTA - Deputy General Chairperson (Waketum) of the National Mandate Party (PAN) Viva Yoga Mauladi emphasized that the existence of the National Mandate Volunteers supporting former DKI Jakarta Governor Anies Baswedan as a presidential candidate had nothing to do with PAN cadres and administrators.

"I need to emphasize that the existence of Indonesian Mandate Volunteers (Anies) has nothing to do with PAN cadres and administrators. That's just a personal attitude," said Viva as quoted by ANTARA, Saturday, May 6.

Viva also conveyed that Volunteer Coordinator Anies Sahrin Hamid and several parties related to the volunteer team had indeed been administrators of PAN. However, they have long been inactive and interacting with party programs.

"Mas Sahrin, Mas Putra Jaya, and Mas Yasin Kara have indeed been administrators of PAN. However, they have been inactive for a long time and have never interacted with the party's program. They are no longer connected to party activities," he said.

Thus, according to Viva, their actions have no significant or influential impact on the PAN extended family.

Viva conveyed that the choice to volunteer for a certain presidential candidate is the political right of every citizen. Even so, he assessed that this choice must also understand organizational ethics so that it does not bring attributes or symbols of the party.

He also emphasized that PAN cadres and administrators throughout Indonesia are currently compact and solid that regarding the 2024 presidential election, in accordance with the results of the 2020 and 2022 PAN National Working Meetings (Rakernas), they have given a complete mandate to PAN Chairman Zulkifli Hasan to determine strategic steps.

The same thing also applies to the determination of the presidential and vice presidential candidate pairs promoted by PAN to provide benefits for the progress of the Indonesian people, nation and state.

Currently, Viva said PAN cadres and administrators throughout Indonesia are focusing on the stages of deliberating members of the DPR and DPRD for the 2024 General Election.

"Regarding the presidential election, it's a matter of the PAN DPP," he said.
