Happy Eid Al-Fitr, Mahfud MD: Give A Long Life To Always Meet Ramadan Again

Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal and Security Affairs (Menko Polhukam) Mahfud MD congratulated the 1444 Hijri Eid Al-Fitr to all Muslims in Indonesia.

Mahfud said Muslims had arrived on a happy day after a month of fasting. Gema Takbir is a sign that Muslims will soon end fasting.

"Happy Muslim people, the echoes of takbir in forestry, we have finished or will end our fasting soon and soon we will enter Eid al-Fitr 1444 H," Mahfud wrote on his Instagram account @mohmahfudmd, Friday, April 21.

"I, Coordinating Minister for Political, Legal and Security Affairs of the Republic of Indonesia Mohammad Mahfud MD, wish you a happy Eid al-Fitr, I apologize physically and mentally," he continued.

Mahfud also expressed his hope on this year's Eid al-Fitr opportunity. "Happy when Ramadan comes, sad when Ramadan leaves. Yes, Allah gives me a long life to always meet Ramadan again," he said.

Previously, the Indonesian government through the Ministry of Religion (Kemenag) decided on Eid al-Fitr or 1 Syawal 1444 Hijriah in Indonesia to fall on Saturday, April 22, 2023.

The decision was based on the results of the Isbat trial, the initial determination of Syawal 1443 H, which was led directly by the Minister of Religion Yaqut Cholil Qoumas at the Ministry of Religion Office, Thursday, April 20, 2023 evening WIB.

"The consensus has set 1 Syawal 1444 Hijri to fall on Saturday 22 April 2023," said Religious Affairs Minister Yaqut Cholil Qoumas at a press conference Thursday, April 20, 2023.
