10-year-old Boy Drifting At Bengkulu White Sand Beach Has Not Been Found

BENGKULU The search for victims of RA (10) who were swept away while bathing in the White Sand area, Bengkulu City, on Saturday 8 April was still carried out by the Bengkulu National Search and Rescue Agency (Basarnas) team. Bengkulu Basarnas assisted by the TNI, Polri, Regional Disaster Management Agency (BPBD), Fire Department, Social Service and Red Cross Indonesia (PMI) to search for victims of RA (10). "The search for victims who went down today, we continue with the joint SAR team divided into four teams," said the Head of the Bengkulu Basarnas M Arafah, Antara, Sunday 9 April. He said that the first and second teams will conduct searches using rubber boats belonging to Basarnas with a search area of about 5Nm. The third team will conduct a search using the Inflatable Boat Rigit Basarnas with a search area of about 20 Nm and the fourth team will conduct a search starting from the scene, namely Pasir Putih Beach and around Panjang Beach.

Arafah hopes that with the SAR operation plan that has been made, the joint team can work as much as possible so that the victim can be found immediately. "Hopefully the victim can be found quickly and today's weather can support the smooth running of SAR operations," he said. For the equipment used by the team in the search for victims, namely two rubber boats, one Rigid Inflatable Boat unit, one complete set of water SAR equipment, one aqua eye, two sets of diving equipment, a set of Under Water Search Device (UWSD), navigation equipment, medical equipment and team individual personal protective equipment. In addition to RA (10), there are two other relatives, namely RE (10) who were rescued by fishermen and RI (10) who have been found dead.
