The Governor of Central Java, Ganjar Pranowo, asked the Department of Transportation to conduct ramp checks or safety inspections on the bus fleet ahead of Eid homecoming. This is important to do to ensure passengers are safe during the trip.

This was conveyed by Ganjar when checking preparations for the Eid homecoming flow at Ir Soekarno Klaten Terminal, Saturday, April 8. Not only hearing reports, Ganjar also ramped a check on one bus at the terminal.

"I feel that bus transportation is still an alternative for the community during Eid homecoming. So I ask the Department of Transportation to routinely ramp check to make sure the vehicle is safe," said Ganjar.

For now, the terminal conditions in Central Java are still quiet. Usually, the terminal is busy when approaching Eid and when the flow is back.

"If we look at it, there has been no increase in ticket sales. Usually the H-10 will begin to be felt. Maybe before Eid, it will explode. This is also one of the destinations for free homecoming. Hopefully, the buses will all be healthy," he explained.

In addition to the fleet, Ganjar Pranowo also asked the Transportation Agency and terminal managers to coordinate with the security forces. This is to anticipate crimes during the homecoming and return of Eid.

"It turns out that all security issues have been prepared from the TNI-Polri and Dishub. All of them have been coordinated. This is a concrete example in Klaten, it has been handled by the Police, Transportation Agency, TNI in support. So God willing, if the preparations are early on, we will be able to anticipate the possibilities that will occur," he concluded.

Meanwhile, a bus agent, Tari said, for now there has been no increase in passengers. However, he is sure, this year's homecoming will be crowded with passengers using buses.

"I'm sure this year there are many passengers. After the pandemic, so many are holding back the longing because maybe Eid yesterday could not go home," said Ganjar Pranowo.
