JAKARTA - Trenggalek Resort Police officers uncovered the practice of covert prostitution under the guise of a coffee shop around the Nusantara Fisheries Port Prigi Trenggalek, East Java.

"One pimp with the initials WR (35) we'secured' (arrested and detained)," said Trenggalek Police Criminal Investigation Unit KBO Iptu Hanik Setyo Budi in Trenggalek, Friday, quoted from Antara.

In addition to securing WR, the police also secured witness LL (36), a resident of Garum District, Blitar Regency, along with a number of evidences.

To the officers, continued Hanik, WR admitted that he had recently run the esek-esek business.

He admitted that he had only been practicing prostitution for four days and had several customers.

In addition to providing commercial sex workers, he also provides a dating location in his shop. He asks for tips every time a transaction at his shop.

"We secured evidence including the transaction proceeds of Rp600 thousand. The suspect received tips of Rp25 thousand from Rp150 thousand each transaction. His confession was only four times," he said.

Hanik added, previously WR migrated to Trenggalek and opened a coffee shop. In practice, the coffee shop only becomes camouflage for "plus-plus" services by employing LL, a housewife from Blitar. He offers conventional customer paid sex services.

"So the shop also provides rooms for the service. So LL works at the shop and WR offers customers conventionally. It's the first time LL's confession has done this job," he said.

The dark practice was strongest after residents became suspicious of unusual activities in the shop.

The reason is, even though the coffee shop has closed, residents often see some customers coming home in the middle of the night and even staying at the shop. Until finally the plus-plus practice was smelled by officers.

It was said that the action was carried out after his party received a complaint from the public.

The practice of prostitution under the guise of a coffee shop or karaoke house is suspected to have sprung up around Prigi Port. Especially during the fish harvest season where many fishermen get abundant catches.

And for control, especially during Ramadan, routine raids and supervision are carried out to keep the security and social security atmosphere conducive.
