Allegedly Aniaya And Challenge Residents At Cafes, Tourists From California Arrested

DENPASAR - The South Denpasar Sector Police have arrested a foreign national (WNA) from California, United States with the initials RJD (37). RJD is suspected of carrying a sharp weapon and threatening, as well as mistreatment of a resident.

Denpasar City Police Chief Kombes Pol. Bambang Yugo Pamungkas accompanied by South Denpasar Police Chief Kompol I Made Teja Dwi Permana in Denpasar, Bali, Friday said that security against the perpetrator began when he came to Diamond Cafe Jalan Tukad Badung No.97, Renon, South Denpasar, Thursday at around 23.30 WITA.

Bambang said the victim with the initials WO (20) from Malang, East Java, told that at first the perpetrators came to drink at the cafe.

"After 30 minutes, the perpetrator suddenly took out a knife that was stored in his trouser pocket, then threatened the victim not to go anywhere and the perpetrator used the knife to injure the victim's left leg by scratched the victim's leg," said Bambang, quoted by ANTARA, Friday, April 7.

He explained that when the perpetrator was careless, the victim immediately fled to ask for help from other cafe employees.

The move made the perpetrators emotional and the perpetrator chased the victim angry and the perpetrator also destroyed several cafe tables while other cafe customers were sitting.

"The perpetrator also held a knife to all cafe visitors, resulting in a commotion," said the Police Chief.

For his actions, the perpetrator is threatened with being charged with Article 2 Paragraph (1) of the Emergency Law no. 12 of 1951 and Article 335 of the Criminal Code concerning threats and Article 351 of the Criminal Code concerning persecution with a maximum imprisonment of 12 years.

"Currently, the perpetrators have been detained at the South Denpasar Police and an intensive examination is being carried out, we will convey further developments after the inspection is complete," concluded Kombes Bambang.
