BANDUNG - Bandung City Regional Secretary (Sekda) Ema Sumarna said as many as 445 locations in Bandung City had complied with the Non-Smoking Area (KTR).

Ema explained that the 445 locations that had complied with the KTR were from 519 locations designated as KTR. The data is based on monitoring through the KTR e-monev dashboard from the Ministry of Health since October 2022.

"A total of 445 locations means that 85.74 percent have complied with the KTR. Meanwhile, those who have not complied with the KTR are 74 locations or 14.26 percent," said Ema when opening the Evaluation of the Dashboard E-Monev Field Visit of the Bandung City KTR at Bandung City Hall, Wednesday, April 5, confiscated by Antara.

The city of Bandung, continued Ema, already has Regional Regulation Number 4 of 2021 concerning KTR, as a legal umbrella that regulates cigarette consumption, both from aspects of health protection as well as social and economic impacts of the community, especially for the younger generation.

"The commitment to law enforcement and regulations already exists. It's just a matter of how to make it as perfect as possible to enforce it to present a smoke-free city of Bandung," he said.

For this reason, said Ema, the Mayor of Bandung has ordered regional apparatus as the KTR guidance and supervision team to carry out guidance and monitoring again at locations that do not comply with the KTR.

Ema also asked all Bandung City Government officials to set a good example for those around them by not smoking in KTR areas, it is also hoped that the implementation of KTR in the city of Bandung can be even more optimal.

"I hope that leaders at various levels will supervise their subordinates. At the same time impose sanctions in the event of a violation," he said.

The Ministry of Health and WHO have made Bandung City one of the application training locus and the e-monev KTR dashboard trials. Meanwhile, other cities are Klungkung Regency, Metro City, Depok City, Bogor City, Cimahi City, and DKI Jakarta.

The online web-based platform and mobile applications developed by the Ministry of Health and WHO have been used by the KTR Task Force team to monitor the implementation of KTR since socialization and hearings were carried out in October 2022 until now.
