Israel Bombed In 2014, Ridwan Kamil's Mosque In Palestine Now Can Be Used For Tarawih Again

JAKARTA - The Sheikh Azlin Mosque, a mosque in Gaza Palestine, designed by the Governor of West Java (Jabar) Ridwan Kamil, can now be used for tarawih prayers in the Holy Month of Ramadan 1444 Hijri. "The Palestinian Gaza Mosque has been used for tarawih again. Alhamdulillah the Sheikh Azlin Mosque, which was destroyed in 2014 by the Israeli bomb attack, is now back to standing upright," said Ridwan Kamil via his personal Instagram account @ridwankamil, as seen by Antara, Sunday. In a video that Governor Ridwan Kamil uploaded on his Instagram account, the mosque was completed and started to be used by the community. "And this is the first Ramadan of the people in the sub-district to be able to worship with afdal, after 8 years of prayer always using emergency tents," he said.

The mosque is a waqf of the Indonesian people managed by the Safe Palestinian humanitarian agency. "All thanks to donations from Indonesian institutional, personal and netizen donors which were raised through @amapalestin.id," he said. The number one person in West Java Province was involved in designing the mosque. he said at that time he gave two design choices for the people there, namely a changing and modern design. "It turns out that the Palestinian Gaza people actually chose a modern design as a symbol of progress and courage," he said.

He said the design of this three-story mosque from outside has three fields that have the meaning of three sickles when viewed from above which means Habluminallah, Habluminannas, and natural Habluminal. We always love and support you dear Palestine," said Ridwan Kamil.
