While Caring For Betawi Culture, Omzet For Ondel-Ondel Production House In Jagakarsa Reaches IDR 10 Million Per Day

JAKARTA - Jakarta's ondel-ondel production house in Srengseng Sawah, Jagakarsa, South Jakarta is able to record turnover of up to IDR 10 million per day.

The turnover is a combination of the proceeds from ondel-ondel sales at the production house and ASNR stores located not far from its production house.

"The income that is now combined with the shop is Rp. 1 million to Rp. 10 million per day. If it's crowded, it's Rp. 10 million," said the person in charge of the Jakarta ondel-ondel production house, Oca at the location, Friday, quoted by ANTARA, Saturday, March 4.

While caring for Betawi culture, the ondel-ondel produced by 15-20 employees has various sizes, ranging from 25 centimeters to 3 meters at a price of Rp. 10,000 to Rp. 7 million.

"There are 25 to 35 centimeters, even up to 3 meters. The best selling is 85 centimeters that can be used by children. The price is Rp. 10,000 to Rp. 7 million, the largest is a pair," said Oca.

In addition, the ondel-ondel production house has been established since 2018, it also sells souvenirs, food, and drinks from Betawi.

"Sell accessories too, there are tweets ondel-ondel that are usually worn by men when wearing koko shirts, boy pants, and scarves, there are also dodol foods, coconut roots, pletok beer, and others. The point is here are typical Betawi souvenirs," explained Oca.

"Yes, there are a lot of people who buy. Most orders are 50 percent directly (buy at the production house), 50 percent of online shops, if more ondel-ondel are interested in buying here (the production house), in people's shops, cake," he continued.

The Jakarta ondel-ondel production house is open at 08.00 WIB. The Ramadan month market for production houses closes at 17.00 WIB, while on weekdays at 18.00 WIB.
