Allegedly Fatigue, Sahari Lost Fisherman In Buru Maluku Found Dead

AMBON - A joint SAR team from the Namlea SAR Post Coordinator, Buru Regency, Maluku evacuated a missing fisherman since Tuesday, March 28, who was found dead. "The victim named Arsyad MARnata (55) was initially reported not returning home after searching for fish around Jikubasa waters, Buru Regency," said Head of the Ambon Search and Rescue Office Mustari quoted by ANTARA, Wednesday, March 29. According to him, the death of the victim at sea was allegedly due to exhaustion after going to sea alone since Tuesday, March 28 at around 00:00 WIT but until the morning the person concerned had not returned home. The Namlea SAR post responded to reports of the marine accident by deploying a Rescue Team to the scene to carry out the SAR Operation. The same as the SAR Potential Element at around 14.20 WIT, the Joint SAR team moved to Jiku Village with a distance of approximately 10.52 km northwest of the Namlea SAR Post. At 15.20 WIT when the team arrived at the scene, one Rubber Boat unit and several longboats of the community were deployed to the scene to carry out search operations.

One hour of search at around 16.00 WIT the victim was found by the Joint SAR Team in a lifeless condition at a depth of 5 meters around the coastal waters of Jikuasan Village. "It is suspected that the victim was exhausted and fell from the catinting boat and drowned and the victim was then evacuated to the funeral home to be handed over to the family," explained Mustari.
