Central Jakarta City Government Will Order Street Vendors And Illegal Parking At Tanah Abang Market

JAKARTA - A number of street vendors (PKL) and illegal parking bags in the Tanah Abang Market area will be brought under control by the Central Jakarta City Government in the near future. Control is carried out because its existence has started to mushroom and is getting more chaotic.

"We have prepared an integrated meeting starting from elements of the Three Pillars of the Regional Government, Police and TNI," said Deputy Mayor of Central Jakarta, Chaidir when contacted, Wednesday, March 29.

Chaidir said his staff would also involve the Civil Service Police Unit (Satpol PP), Central Jakarta Transportation Sub-department, Social Service Sub-Department and PD Pasar Jaya in handling the Tanah Abang market. The construction of posts will also be carried out.

"We are structuring and controlling the Tanah Abang Market area to anticipate crowds during the month of Ramadan until before Eid," he said.

Separately, the Head of the Central Jakarta Transportation Agency, Wildan Anwar, said that his party had brought control of vehicles parked in any place.

"In the Tanah Abang Market area, there are 6 illegal parking bags that we continue to organize. Later we will also build posts in anticipation of the rise of illegal parking," he said.

Previously, sidewalks as public facilities located on Jalan Jembatan Tinggi, opposite Blok F Pasar Tanah Abang, Tanah Abang District, Central Jakarta, were still controlled by illegal parking of four-wheeled vehicles. As of Friday, March 24, noon, the atmosphere in the area was irregular.

There are vehicles parked on the sidewalk and covering the Guiding block or guide road for people with disabilities, especially the visually impaired. Whereas it should have been, the four-wheeled vehicle was not parked on the sidewalk.
