Polda Metro Names 1 Suspect Of Fraud Umrah Mode PT NSWM Recidivist Similar Cases

JAKARTA - Polda Metro Jaya has named three suspects in the Umrah travel fraud case which caused dozens of worshipers to be abandoned in Saudi Arabia. From the results of the investigation, one of them is a recidivist of a similar case. "The two people are just this time. One is a recidivist," said Head of Sub-Directorate for State Security (Kamneg) of the Ditreskrimum Polda Metro Jaya AKBP Joko Dwi Harsono to reporters, Tuesday, March 28. The suspect who is a recidivist is Mahfudz Abdulah alias Abi (52). He is the owner of the Travel of PT Naila Safaah Wisata Mandiri (NSWM). Based on police records, Mahfudz has been a fraud with the umrah mode since 2016. He offers cheap Umrah packages so that many people are interested in registering. However, after paying according to the agreement, many registrants failed to leave. Thus, Mahfudz was arrested and detained. As if he did not lose his head, after being free he returned to the cunning business by buying PT NSWM. “ In the past there was a perpetrator who was arrested and had finished serving his sentence then he bought this PT (PT NSMW). And he did it again, "” said Joko. Meanwhile, the other suspects are Halikjah Amin alias Bunda (48), and Hermansyah is a new suspect. In this case, the suspects are charged with Article 126 Juncto Article 119 A of Law Number 8 of 2019 concerning the Implementation of Hajj and Umrah as amended in Article 126 of Law Number 11 of 2020 concerning Job Creation with a maximum penalty of 10 years in prison.
