Propose Suspension Of Detention Of Suspect Of Dissolution Of Church Worship In Bandar Lampung, FKUB: Attention From City Government

The Bandar Lampung Religious Harmony Forum (FKUB) has submitted a letter of suspension of detention for the man who disbanded the worship of the Congregation of the Camp Daud Christian Church (GKKD). The suspension was sent to the Lampung Regional Police.

"This request for a suspension of detention is an attention from the city government (city government) because it wants inter-religious harmony in this city to be maintained," said Head of FKUB Bandar Lampung Purna Irawan, in Bandar Lampung, Tuesday, March 28, as reported by Antara.

He said the Bandar Lampung FKUB had submitted a request for the person to get restorative justice aka RJ because the problems between the two parties had actually been resolved by deliberation.

"Regarding the request for a suspension of detention, we (FKUB) emphasize that we are not taking sides everywhere, it does not mean that because the person is a Muslim, not at all. But we are talking that there should not be different interpretations and opinions in the midst of our society," he said.

Regarding the issue that blows, there will be groups of people carrying out mass actions so that these individuals are released, Purna hopes that these actions will not happen things that violate the law, are anarchist, and will actually cause things that will damage the values of religious harmony in this city.

"If they take action, it is regulated and guaranteed in law, but there is not the slightest direction from the city government, FKUB, and so on," he said.

He said, in the problem that occurred between a man and the GKKD congregation, it was actually a mere miscommunication problem.

"In this matter, the city government always provides support in maintaining religious harmonization in this city so that we have carried out dialogue and communication to both parties," he said.

Previously, the Lampung Police Ditreskrimum detained the suspect Wawan Kurniawan regarding the alleged termination of worship at the Bandar Lampung GKKD on Sunday 19 February in Rajabasa Jaya Village, Rajabasa District.
