KENDARI - Basarnas Kendari said that two fishermen who suffered damage to the ship while fishing in the waters of Wakatobi Regency were found safe.

Acting Head of the Kendari Basarnas Office, Rudi, said that the two victims Laputu (66) and Ladaa (64) were found safe by their families who participated in the search operation.

"Regarding the two fishermen who had broken houses and leaks in Wakatobi, we received information from the victim's family that on Sunday (March 26) at 15.00 WITA, the victim was found between Kaledupa Island and Tomia Island in a safe condition by the families of the victims who participated in the search," he said in a written statement, Monday, March 27, quoted by Antara.

He said that after the victim was found, the victims were then evacuated by their families. Meanwhile, the victim's ship was pulled to the village of Bajo Mola Sama, Kaledupa Island, Wakatobi.

Rudi said the Wakatobi SAR Post Rescue Team then headed to Bojo Mola Sambasa Village to confirm the victim's whereabouts and arrived at 19.15 WITA in the village.

Furthermore, at 19.30 WITA the Basarnas Team returned to Wanci with one of the victims on behalf of Laputu. Meanwhile, the Ladaa victim remained in Bajo Mola Sambasa Village to repair the broken-as ship.

"At 21.00 WITA, the Wakatobi SAR Post Rescue Team arrived in Wanci and the victim on behalf of Laputu was handed over to his family," said Rudi.

Basarnas said the two fishermen who experienced a ship leak, namely Laputu, were residents of Liyamawi Village, Wangi-Wangi Selatan District and Ladaa were residents of Wasororou'u Village, Wangi-Wangi District, Wakatobi.

Rudi explained that previously the two victims were reported to have gone out to sea to look for fish around the waters of Kaledupa and Tomia since Saturday, March 25 at around 13.00 WITA.

Furthermore, on Sunday, March 26 at around 13.33 WITA, the victim contacted one of his family in Wanci to contact the SAR Team to be given assistance regarding the condition of the ship where there was a broken force and leakage.

"By finding the two victims safe, the SAR operation was declared complete and closed," he concluded.
