The police plan to summon witnesses for questioning regarding the incident of a overturned mining boat in the river area of Jalan Mastrip Kemlaten, Surabaya City, East Java, which occurred on Saturday, March 25.

"It's still being investigated, so the investigation process is still ongoing. Maybe (the summons) on Monday, March 27, someone will be summoned one by one," said Head of the Karangpinang Police Investigation and Criminal Unit Iptu Gogot Purwanto, Antara, Sunday, March 26.

Gogot did not deny that the investigation process also saw the psychological development of witnesses.

"Many victims were in shock. They are still investigating, there are no suspects, there are no reported," he said.

Previously, personnel from the East Java Regional Police Ditpolairud found a body in the river under the Gunung Sari Toll Road bridge which was a victim of the overturned mining boat incident.

"The victim's hand was seen first, with the pattern carried out by Ditpolairud. Anyway, the hand came out first," said Gogot.

Officers can carry out initial identification on the body known to be the female. However, the police still have to wait for further identification from the dr. Soetomo Surabaya to confirm that the body was a victim of the overturned mining boat incident.

"Alhamdulillah, we can still be identified, but we still (the results of identification) must be at dr. Soetomo Hospital to be sure, we cannot speculate," he said.

Therefore, police officers will also go to Dr. Soetomo Hospital to find out the full information of the body.

Meanwhile, regarding the operational evaluation of the mining boat, Gogot said that this could not be done immediately because it had to involve many related parties. Moreover, the existence of mining boats in the area is to support the mobilization of the local community.

"If it determines whether to operate or not, there are many other institutions that must be spoken to because this is also a collision with the community's path to carry out activities," he said.

Previously, a team from Ditpolairud found a body in the river under the Gunung Sari Toll Road bridge on Sunday afternoon at around 12.15 WIB.

The location of the discovery of the body is included in the four-point sector of the search for one victim of the mining boat incident.
