JAKARTA - The police arrested 15 teenagers when they were about to do a brawl using a sarong (backcase war) in the Jagakarsa area, South Jakarta on Friday, March 24 evening.

"On Friday, at around 21.45 WIB, 15 teenagers who carried out the sarong war were arrested," said Jagakarsa Police Chief Kompol Multazam Lisendra in a written statement, Saturday, March 25.

Multazam added that he had confiscated eight cell phones, one suction (sharp weapon at the tip of the rifle/bayonet), six motorcycle keys, three sarongs whose ends were tied, eight motorcycles.

Multazam explained that the chronology began on Friday at around 21.00 WIB, when 15 teenagers grouped up on Jalan Durian, Jagakarsa, they consisted of two groups, suddenly ran and attacked each other in a brawl while shouting using a sarong (it ended up being tied up by a stone).

"Then the residents and came out to block them and secure the group of teenagers," he said.

Multazam explained that the first group was secured at the RW 05 Post Jalan Pepaya RT 003/05 with five suspects.

Then another group was secured at Jalan Durian Barat II RT 006/04 Jagakarsa Village with ten suspects.

The teenagers were then taken to the Jagakarsa Police Station for further questioning.

Multazam said a number of teenagers were registered as residents of Cilandak. "Staying in a dormitory in East Cilandak," added Multazam.
